Meeting Needs. Making Disciples. Mobilizing Laborers.
ENGAGE THE CRISIS, a relief effort of the Antioch Movement, was created to care for the large number of refugees currently entering Europe. Our heart is to draw Muslims to Jesus and mobilize this generation to share the love of Christ with these refugees. The Church has an opportunity to define how this historic crisis is spoken about in future generations.
Whether we are staying or going, all of us can partner with the Lord in prayer for the refugees and missionaries going to serve in Europe this summer. There is so much to ask our heavenly Father for:
- Refugees to travel safely
- Teams to be trained and supplied
- The Church around the world to take action
Above all, people in Europe are hungry to meet those who can lead them into new life and purpose in Jesus. Please join us now by saying a simple prayer for the salvation of many.
- Sign up for up-to-date prayer requests.
- Our friends at the Syrian Circle have inspired the way we pray for refugees. Visit their website and join their prayer movement.
Investing in Engage the Crisis will provide the money needed for our base operations, outreach materials, summer interns and refugee care. These funds will go toward facilitating the overall initiative and meeting the needs of the refugees and your gift is 100% tax-deductible.
Donations are processed through Antioch Ministries International, our parent organization.
Join us for a historic opportunity to minister to refugees in Europe on a two to three week Impact Trip this fall.
Please contact your local Antioch church or email us at email@example.com with any inquires.
Engage the Crisis is mobilizing the church to love and share with refugees across Europe this summer. There are three ways that participants can be involved: Impact Trips, Three-Month Internships and One-Year Internships.
We are offering a limited number of spots on Impact Trips to Greece and Germany this fall. Please contact your local Antioch church or email us with inquiries or to apply for fall trips.
Engage the Crisis has mobilized more than 200 participants on a three month internship to serve and share with refugees across Europe. Interns work under base leaders as they help facilitate short-term teams, minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the refugees and help form churches made up of the people who respond to the Gospel.
One Year Internship
Engage the Crisis is offering an 11-month internship starting in August 2016. The one-year internship is an opportunity for participants interested in vocational church planting to practice church-planting and disciple-making methods under the mentorship of experienced leaders. Participants will spend the majority of their time sharing the Gospel and meeting with new believers, while also meeting practical needs by serving at refugee service centers. Interns get to experience a tight-knit, team-centered lifestyle as they worship, pray, work and live together. Our hope is for intern teams to catalyze lasting church-planting movements in their cities. Interns will serve at one of three year-long bases in Greece or Germany.
This year we have a unique opportunity to engage the refugee crisis in several European locations and your son or daughter has been invited to join us this summer. The refugee crisis has presented the Body of Christ with a unique opportunity to minister to people from the Middle East outside the pressure-filled Middle Eastern context. There is a hunger and openness in these people that has never been seen in history, and we want to be there for them in this irreplaceable hour.
You may ask what students can do that can make an impact in this situation. You would be surprised what they can do! Antioch has experience ministering in these situations doing everything from children’s ministry, sports ministry, forming PTSD-relief groups, running medical clinics and organizing anti-human trafficking education opportunities. In short, we will provide students the training necessary for them to serve people and share the love of Christ with refugees in a variety of ways.
We understand that sending your son or daughter across the world is no small thing and we take seriously the responsibility to protect, lead and serve them well. We want each of you to know that your questions and concerns are paramount to us, and we will do everything we can to address each one.
Thank you for allowing your student to be part of Engage the Crisis. We consider working with them a joy and a privilege.
