Volunteers are essential to the life of our church! We rely on more than 400 volunteers each Sunday and more than 1,200 throughout the week for various ministries.
We believe volunteering is one of the best ways to worship God and find community in church. There are many opportunities for you to use your time, talent and skills to serve Jesus and our community. You’ll find you always get more than you give!

CAMPUS AND STAFF SUPPORT
Videography and Photography
Serve Antioch with your specialized skills by volunteering with the communications team! Volunteers help with videography and photography. If you are looking for a way to help support many ministries at Antioch, this is a great area to get involved.
Ideally the team is looking for people who are physically fit and have previous or current life experience working in but not limited to security, police, military or martial arts.
Missionary House Hospitality
This team ensure all missionaries on Refuel (furlough) or otherwise in Waco are welcomed and served in a way that reflects the hospitality of Jesus.
The bookstore relies on volunteers to serve guests by helping with transactions, keeping the bookshelves organized and stocked and collecting and counting the offering. We need people willing to serve with a smile and greet the many guests who come through the bookstore.
Umbrella Greeting Team and Golf Carts
From the time someone pulls in to Antioch’s parking lot for a Sunday service, we want them to have a great experience! This team of volunteers helps make that happen by greeting church attendees with a smile and creating a welcoming, warm atmosphere for all to feel the love and presence of Jesus. This team greets at the entrance to the building and in the parking lot, as well as driving golf carts to help attendees get to the building from the parking lot.
From the time someone pulls in to Antioch’s parking lot for a Sunday service, we want them to have a great experience! This team of volunteers helps play a vital role in making that happen by greeting church attendees as with a smile and creating a welcoming, warm atmosphere for all to feel the love and presence of Jesus. Volunteers welcome guests and members as they arrive to the auditorium, assist guests who are looking for seats and take up the offering during the service.
The Info Desk serves as a hub for guests and members to locate helpful information, ask questions and pick up handouts mentioned in services. Volunteers that like to help people with direction and information, this is the place for you!
Sundays become even better when free Common Grounds coffee is served! Join this volunteer team to make an impact through hospitality. Volunteers brew and serve coffee every Sunday morning.
Kids Ministry (Sunday)
Antioch Kids Ministry is all about creating environments where kids can encounter God and have fun! Volunteers help do this through holding babies, acting in skits, leading worship, creatively teaching messages and more. Not a kid person? We have a place for you too – come find out more!
Take a look at our Kids Ministry page for more information about our age-specific ministries.
Our Middle School Ministry seeks to empower middle school students to love Jesus, one another and those who don’t know God. Volunteers help students discover their God-given gifts and use them to serve others.
Volunteers with our High School Ministry help cultivate a passion for Jesus in teenagers by overseeing high school Lifegroups, discipling students and assisting in the basic production of various Youth Ministry services and events.
Our weekly college service ministers to 600 college students and provides several opportunities for volunteering in different areas. We have an AV and production team, hospitality team, media team, set-up team, welcome team and worship team. Serving is an incredible way to build community and friendships. We would love to have you on our team!
Volunteering with our Young Adult Ministry is one of the best ways to get involved in community with us. There are opportunities to serve at our weekly service called Bridge Street on the welcome team, production team, set-up team and prayer team. There are also places to serve in our Lifegroups that meet together throughout the city on a week to week basis. It would be an honor to have you on our team!
Alpha Course is our corporate evangelism tool. We seek to create an environment open to everyone where the big questions of life and faith can be explored. This course is offered once a year, kicking off in January. Volunteers are needed to host an Alpha Table, which is like hosting people in your home. Volunteers seek to make every guest feel welcomed. You are not a teacher or answer-giver, rather a conversation facilitator. The relationships built around the Alpha table are key to hearts being opened to the message of Jesus.
Every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., we come together to share a meal with people in poverty, have a time of worship and hear a message. Opportunities to serve at the Feast include welcoming and connecting with guests that attend, assisting with the kids’ program, preparing and serving food, set up and clean up.
STARS Mentoring Project
STARS volunteers are being salt and light to our city by helping the kids of our community succeed in school and in life! We have two ways to get involved, Book Club and Friday Club. In Book Club, a mentor meets with a group of two or three students once a week over lunch at their school, where they talk, eat and take turns reading a book together. You don’t have to be a trained teacher or tutor, all you need is a heart to encourage students, help them along as they read and show interest in their lives. This simple model can help kids catch up to their reading level, which can make them four times more likely to graduate from high school and impact the trajectory of their whole life!
In Friday Club, mentors meet with kids for games, crazy challenges, arts and crafts, and small group discussion times, where they offer friendship, encouragement and advice to kids as they’re navigating the transitions of late elementary school and middle school. Through these mentoring programs we are showing the love of Jesus in practical ways to hundreds of kids right here in our church neighborhood!
UnBound mobilizes the church and activates local communities to fight human trafficking through prevention, professional training and survivor advocacy. From working with at-risk youth in the juvenile detention center to providing hospitality at community events, there are many ways to be involved.
